GEOFFREY B.SMALL 1920’s Full Lining 5B Tailor Blouson
・Only 2 pieces have been handmade worldwide: a World Exclusive model made solely for Carrefour in Jiyugaoka, Tokyo.
・Drawing on GEOFFREY B. SMALL's many years of tailoring research, this piece takes a 1920s 5-button, fully lined tailored blouson as its prototype and reconstructs it.
・Its defining feature is a fully reversible “2-in-1” design that offers two completely different looks in one piece.
・The main wool side uses Super 150’s extra-fine virgin wool woven in Biella, Italy, one of the world's leading fine-wool regions.
・A luxurious suiting fabric in which very fine, high-quality Super 150’s wool is woven into a subdued, dark-toned check/plaid pattern.
・From a distance it reads as a quiet dark color, but up close a delicate grid of bluish lines emerges — understated, yet full of depth.
・The other side uses a fabric woven by Ezio Ghiringhelli(Etsio Giringerri) of Varese, Italy: a luxurious, iridescent viscose floral jacquard.
・As the photos show, an exceptionally beautiful fabric based on soft green to gold, with botanical motifs and colors emerging as the angle of the light changes.
・A jacquard so luxurious it would normally be hidden away as a “lining” is here made to stand as a second outer fabric — one of the great attractions of this HUJ22.
・A classic, quiet Super 150’s wool side and a vibrant, colorful floral jacquard side: the composition is like two completely different jackets fused into one.
・After sewing, each piece is individually hand washed, shaped and treated at the GBS Superworkrooms in Cavarzere, Venice.
・This process softens the stiffness typical of new fine suiting, bringing out a lived-in character, a three-dimensional form and an exceptionally soft feel when worn.
・The design is based on a classic single-breasted notched lapel, yet carries the lightness of a blouson in a distinctive balance.
・The waist and cuffs feature button adjusters, so you can fine-tune the silhouette and fit.
・The lapels have a hidden button and a working buttonhole: button them up to close the collar in colder months, or leave them open for a sportier look.
・The photos also show two distinct looks: a blouson style with the collar turned up and the front closed to the top, and a jacket style with the collar open to reveal the notched lapels.
・At both sides are wide-gauge vertical besom pockets, cut by hand.
・The pockets themselves are carefully fully lined in Super 150’s wool, combining a soft touch with durability.
・The main fitting seams have generous 2.5cm seam allowances, so the size can be adjusted and repairs made over years of wear.
・Beyond simply using luxurious materials, it is made on the premise of being worn for years, even decades, and repaired along the way — a philosophy unique to GBS.
・The buttons are genuine corozo, made for GBS by Claudio Fontana and Cinzia Fontana of Parma, Italy.
・Inside, there are also genuine corozo buttons made for GBS and hand-dyed by Finazzi of Bergamo.
・In other words, to suit the reversible construction, different corozo buttons matched to the character of each side are used.
・It has GEOFFREY B. SMALL's signature: 7 fully hand-sewn buttonholes.
・Cutting and sewing a single buttonhole takes 10–14 minutes, all done by hand by skilled artisans.
