・A unique, one-of-a-kind exclusive piece created solely for Carrefour Jiyugaoka. Based on the GBS Evolution VI super-limited edition, this is a special specification handcrafted as a single garment.
・Designed as a high-neck, 6-button vest with a relaxed silhouette, rooted in the tailoring expertise GBS has cultivated over many years.
・Its standout feature is the 2-in-1 reversible design, allowing it to be worn on either side. You can enjoy two different textures and looks in a single piece.
・One side features a luxurious suiting fabric: a rare vintage "GALLEX" pure virgin wool flannel glen check from the prestigious Italian mill Lanificio Gaetano Marzotto & Figli.
・Marzotto is a historic wool manufacturer founded by Luigi Marzotto in 1836. This fabric was selected from a vintage series produced during the era when the Marzotto family still owned the mill (prior to 1924).
・The reverse side combines extra-fine Super 120’s pure Tasmanian wool woven in Biella, Italy, with a padded design in a dark color, featuring wool batting held in place by horizontal stitching. In contrast to the intricate pattern of the other side, this offers a more sporty and minimalist look.
・Once completed, each piece undergoes a special hand-dyeing process at the GBS workshop in Cavarzere, Venice, requiring over 10 hours of professional labor to achieve its unique shade, patina, and soft texture.
・The garment utilizes a dark-toned fabric with delicate stripes. The product dyeing and hand-treatment processes add natural wrinkles and tonal variations, resulting in a relaxed appearance that sets it apart from traditional suiting fabrics.
・The front is finished with large hand-cut besom pockets. While functional, the unique cutting serves as a design accent.
・The high neck, which wraps around the collar, can be adjusted by opening or closing the buttons to change its look. It is designed to be worn easily over shirts or knits, as well as layered under jackets or coats.
・The vest uses two types of special real horn buttons, crafted exclusively for GBS by the prestigious Claudio & Cinzia Fontana in Parma.
・All of the buttonholes, a signature of GBS, are hand-sewn with pure silk thread. Cutting and sewing a single buttonhole alone takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
・Any variations in color intensity or slight irregularities resulting from the dyeing, washing, and handmade processes are not flaws, but characteristics unique to this manufacturing method that give each piece its own distinct character.
・This extremely luxurious construction combines historic Marzotto vintage wool and high-quality Super 120’s Tasmanian wool, with natural wool batting in between. It is a piece quintessentially Geoffrey B. Small, reimagining classic suiting material into a warm, lightweight reversible vest.
