・The fabric is a lavish 16 momme pure silk raso satin made in Como, Italy, one of the world’s foremost centers of fine silk
・The fabric carries a special print, “Kyoto Garden Pond Lilies”, created exclusively for GBS
・This special silk print is the work of a family that has produced fine silk fabrics in Como for many years — the Brenna family
・A fabric of striking presence, depicting on silk a motif reminiscent of water lilies floating on a pond in a Kyoto garden, rendered in painterly color and abstract expression
・Complex colors such as beige, gold, brown and blue overlap, so that depending on the viewing distance and angle, it can read as plants, as the surface of water, or as an abstract painting — a depth of expression that defines this fabric
・As the photos show, the pattern appears very differently on the left and right fronts, the sleeves and the back — a bold finish that turns the whole shirt into a canvas
・After sewing, each piece undergoes special hand-washing, shaping and treatment one by one at GBS Superworkrooms in Cavarzere, Venice

・Cutting and sewing a single buttonhole takes 10–12 minutes, and the buttonholes alone account for more than 2 hours of skilled handwork per shirt
・For the buttonholes, the finest pure silk thread from Bozzolo Reale Milano Seta is used
